Explore our enrolment pathways, designed to support your child’s transition and help them move into their kindergarten years with confidence.
Pope Road Kindergarten is part of the Whitehorse PreSchool Association (WPSA) Central Application Scheme for Three and Four Year Old preschools.
To apply, visit WSPA. Enrolments are for children from 2 years of age, with positions allocated in the year before attendance. Applications close 30 June each year, and families are contacted between July and September.
Required documents include: proof of child’s date of birth, proof of residential address & proof of up-to-date immunisation.
Selection Criteria

4-Year-Old Group: Must turn four by 30 April in the year of attendance.
3-Year-Old Group: Must turn three by 30 April and meet National Regulations 2012.

All children must meet No Jab, No Play vaccination requirements.

Priority is given to children who are:
At risk of abuse or neglect (including Out-of-Home Care)
Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander
Asylum seekers or refugees
Eligible for the Kindergarten Fee Subsidy
Children with additional needs or disabilities

If applications exceed places, priority is applied as follows:
Children residing in the City of Whitehorse.
Repeating children from Pope Road Kindergarten, with teacher, parent, and Approved Provider approval for second-year placements.
Local factors:
Siblings of current or past attendees
Continuation from Three-Year-Old to Four-Year-Old programs
Proximity to the kindergarten (calculated “as the crow flies”)
Random selection if distance is equal

Special circumstances submitted in writing before 30 June will be reviewed by the Approved Provider.
Second-year Four-Year-Old placements at other preschools may be approved if recommended by an early childhood teacher.
